There is a soul mate for everyone I believe.  When I was single a wise friend of mine told me this but added that there were many potential partners for everybody, it just depended how much you wanted to compromise.  Relationships are like that, no one is perfect, even me    I found this to be very true when I really thought about it, but I wanted someone that I didn't have to compromise too much with, a soul mate.

What I did was find the best person to consult that would guide me to my soul mate, so I turned to my Guardian Angel.

These are 6 things I did to help this along:

1.  Be happy as you are.  You don't need someone to make you happy as you can be happy within yourself and then this will attract into your life someone special.

2.  Resolve problems from previous relationships and release them.  Don't carry excess baggage around with you into the next relationship.

3.  Do things for yourself, like warm scented baths or light some incense before bedtime to help you connect to your Guardian Angel.

4.  Before you go to sleep ask your Guardian Angel to send someone into your life that will become your soul mate.

5.  Listen to any message you receive through your dreams that may be guiding you.

6.  Repeat steps 4 and 5 as often as you think you need to and be patient as it will happen, you just don't know when.

This method worked for me and I have been with my soul mate now for 8 years.  I had been by myself for the previous 10 years and it was only after asking my Guardian Angel that within three months I met my fiancee.  After being by myself for so long it hasn't been easy adjusting to being part of a couple, it has taken time and we accepted that, but we are quite content and happy today and I can truly say he is my soul mate.

This is a lovely poem about Guardian Angels and I think it really explains their role.  They are always there in our lives so why not talk to them each day and thank them for their guidance, support and comfort.

Always remember that if you need help in some way ask your Guardian Angel and he/she will help you.   May you also have the wisdom to follow their advice.  You won't hear their voice as such but you will receive their message.  Listen to these messages carefully.

Most religions believe in a Guardian Angel or Spirit Guide of some sort.  Getting to know your own heavenly Angel is not difficult but with practice it makes it easier.  The first step is to acknowledge that you do indeed have one and that they are with you in times of happiness, sorrow, grief or turmoil.  Know that they are there to help you through your life.

I talk to my Guardian Angel(s) and most often this is while I am traveling in the car, and this is probably because I feel them closer maybe because of being more enclosed and also the quiet of the open road.  I travel through the countryside to get to work each day which takes me about an hour each way.

They know that I look for their protection and they haven't let me down yet.  When I am really troubled I will often ask them for help.  I listen in my heart for their messages and sometimes it's just a matter knowing what to do or say.  It's a kind of intuitive feeling or message that comes through.  Remembering to listen for these messages is important.

I can't say I have actually seen my Guardian Angel but I have felt them near me and a few times I have seen a glimpse of movement in the corner of my eye.  This has happened to me a few times while I was growing up (in the family home) and later while I was visiting there.  All the family believe that this is a protective heavenly angel who looks after us and our children, especially the babies, but really the Guardian Angel is associated with my mother.

I dream that I am discussing issues and goals with my heavenly Angel, and this is for me a wonderful way of talking to them and getting advice.  I wish that I could connect more often but I know they are always there for me.  What I do to prepare for these  dreams is the same as for any dream.  I listen to some relaxation music or do a simple meditation while lying in bed, ready to go to sleep.  I keep my journal next to my bed so I can record the dream as soon as I wake up.
