I have been dreaming a lot lately and many include dreams about Christmas parties, the Christmas tree and giving presents to friends.  Chirstmas is an important time of year for me and can be stressful, joyful and demanding so my dreams are about being prepared so I know to act on this and plan ahead. It could also mean the demands that are put on ourselves at this time of year especially family responsibilities are weighing us down.

Many dreams about an important event can be triggered by worry about the event or just by being stressed preparing for it like it seems I am doing.  These dreams tell me that I am stress although I wasn't really aware that I was.  If this does not apply to you then what does dreaming about Christmas mean?

Christmas represents a time of goodwill, peace and celebration and it also can be a time of spiritual enlightenment.  Your dreams may indicate that you are expecting pleasure in your life just as you do at Christmas.

Christmas and New Year also represent new beginnings so are you thinking of a fresh start, moving, new job new way of living?  These dreams all need to be interpreted individually and you are the best person to interpret them.

If you are dreaming of Christmas and it's the end of the year then this is probably just your way your brain is sorting through the data it's being fed during the day.  Relax and don't let this happy time of year get you too stressed.  Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

When you are more experienced with controlling your dreams you can then work towards a more advanced level of awareness and enhancing the experience of your dreams by using healing crystals. We all dream but most of us don't have any control of what we do dream.

When you go to bed at night take your healing crystal in your hands and try to go to a place deep within you.  Feel the energy of the crystal protect and strengthen you from top to toes.  Think about the concern you are having and send it to the crystal to resolve.  In the morning record that dream to interpret and I am sure you will feel that that concern you had has lessened or dissolved or you know the solution now.

Birth dreams can also mean that a positive change is going to happen very soon in your life or someone close to you.

You need to know how did you feel during the dream.  This does change the overall meaning as well.  Dreams come to us in symbols and they don't always mean  what is at first obvious to us.  Ask yourself what could this birth dream really mean.

If it is your child who dreams of a birth and you or someone close to you is not pregnant then this dream too can mean a new start for the child and is a good omen for the future.  Explain to your child what this dream means to them.

So when you dream of having a baby or holding a baby or someone close to you is, then think about all the things I have mentioned above and you will have your own dream interpretation.

Does that make you feel better or did you really want to have that baby?  I hope it explains though why you had this birth dream and that dreams don't always mean what they first appear.

Even babies dream and a dreaming baby has rapid eye movement that you can see and it is also shown by the changing expression on their faces.  It would be amazing to find out what a dreaming baby is really dreaming about.  Are they dreaming of food and warmth or of things to come in their lives?  They do need sleep though to develop their growing brains.

Your children's dreams may be a way of fulfilling a wish to do something like ride that elephant or they may be sorting out a problem they have had in the day in a very simple way or the dream  may be helping them bridge a fear or problem that they are finding hard to express.

Monsters are probably a very common bad dream children dream about and of course they always appear in the dark.  Your children's dream could mean that they cant face something like an emotion like jealousy of a new baby in the house or it could be something they are trying to escape from rather than face like problems at school.  Talk to your child the next morning but remember that they don't always remember their dreams.  Reassure them that dreams aren't real and cant hurt them.

We all need to sleep and that applies to children too.  When we sleep we dream, and who is to say that dreaming isn't one of the main reasons why we sleep.  Children spend more time than adults sleeping so not only do they need more time to rest their

These are the 3 steps I follow myself for my own dream interpretation.  Follow them and you will have a greater understanding of what your dreams are trying to tell you.

1.  Before you go to sleep, relax your body and mind and ask you angel (spirit guide or dreaming self)  to help you to remember the dream that night. You need to be relaxed to help this to work.

2.  As soon as you wake up think about the dream you had and then write it down.  Don't wait too long or your dream memory will disappear. This is the most important part of dream interpreting so follow this part carefully.

Things to think about when writing out your dream:

• What kind of dream was it?  Was it a nightmare, weird  experience or a regular dream?
• Was the dream in the past or the future or does it relate to the present.
• Write down how you felt while dreaming.  For example were you feeling happy, sad or anxious?  This does make a difference as feelings are very important for dream interpretations.
• What symbols or themes were used. Maybe you had a dream of a tidal wave or a wedding or maybe it was a person such as a friend or an animal. You can get guidance here from a dream dictionary but remember it's your dream and use it as a guide only.

3.  Wait a few days then read back what you have written and it will probably be clear to you what the solution or other explanation is for that dream.  The more you do these 3 steps, the better you will become at it.  Symbols and themes will probably be the most difficult part of your dream interpretation and where you may need to seek help.

This is a simple method for interpreting your dream but some dreams are more complex, so if you are still unclear of the meaning, then you can get your dream interpreted professionally.  I would recommend this especially if  the dream disturbs you or you have many symbols to interpret.

Start tonight, why wait for a better time because tonight is the perfect time, while it is all fresh in your memory.

Jung describes them as five main characters or stereotypes:
The self - the whole or the center, the ego
The shadow - the opposite of the self, instinctive and irrational
The Anima - from the meaning, to breathe,   female personality of the male,  eg Eve
The Animus - the masculine personality of the female
The Persona - how we present ourselves to others, the mask we wear

There are many, many others though and include the following:
Angel - genie, message giver, a recognizable dream guide
The great mother - queen, goddess, mother divine
A wise old person - the mentor, Merlin
A trickster or clown - eg Bugs Bunny or it may even be your cat
The divine child - the vulnerable, longing for innocence

Do you recognize any of these characters in your dreams as your dream guide? The great mother is very prevalent in my dreams as is the divine child.

Before you go to sleep, ask that a dream guide appear in your dream.  Prepare by relaxing and taking your mind to your favorite or happy place.  Gently drift off to sleep but remember to record your dream in the morning.  Do this again another night and invite them back.  The more you do it, the better you will get at it and you will develop a relationship with your guide over time.

There have been thousands of songs written about dreams especially love songs.  In our dreams we can be with those we love whether they are alive or have passed, they love us, or they don't.  These are very special dreams and often give comfort to the dreamer.

Nobody can escape from dreaming! So if you think that you have slept peacefully last night without any dream, it is not true.  The fact is that you may just not recall them. For certain reasons, your unconscious needs to communicate with you and dreams are its only pathway.  Studies show that we dream several times per night and these dreams may last for one to two hours.  Dreams are essential for our brains to maintain a proper function.

Dreams are not limited to what we can see. Do you know people who have no sight still dream? You don't need to see to dream as they can be in the form of sound, feelings and smells detected by senses other than the eyes. It is sometimes only the feelings that remain that we do remember from our dreams.  Have you ever experienced a scary dream, but just cant call to mind the details, only that we felt scared.

When speaking about dreams, we should consider also whether animals dream? Well, studies have shown that warm-blooded animals do dream. The sudden eyes movement, moaning or opening of claws may be signals of dreams. But no one can really tell whether these are truly dreams.  If we could ask them I'm sure they would tell us they can.

Dreams are special so don't dismiss them. Find out how your dreams can make your life more fulfilling. You can learn to read your own dreams intuitively or seek someone who can.

As Walt Disney once said "All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage".

When I dream I am a child again, I am a teenager, a schoolgirl or an adult, but I am never old or ugly.  I travel the world, I live in the country or in an unfamiliar land, and I am a man or a woman.  As you can see my dreams are extensive and they are often.  In my dreams I am swept along not able to change the events or surroundings.  My only release is to wake up.

I can dream about you or you can of of me.  My dreams are of my family and my friends and the people I love who have passed.  I dream of recent events in my life and those from my childhood.  Some of my dreams are about similar things and I will talk about interpreting dreams in another post.

Remembering the dream is sometimes easy and at other times the memory is gone in a flash.  If I wake up quickly then the memory fades fast.  When I dream it's usually in the early morning and just before I wake up.   I find I remember the dream if I tell someone about it.  A diary is another good way of recording your dreaming experiences so you may look back on them for a better understanding later on.

My dreams are in full color, or very dark colors and sometimes in one color only. I often dream in black and white or a sepia.  Dreaming in vivid color gives me the most realistic experiences and my past gets represented by sepia or black and white like its a faded memory.

When I dream I can be anyone my mind wants me be and I am liberated from my body and my everyday life.  I can dream about you or we may even meet in our dreams.
